about amy

Hailing from Japan’s northern island of Hokkaido, Amy Marie Barrett graduated from Sapporo City University in 2014. But more interestingly, Amy first began her artistic journey as an otter pup in the Salish Sea many life times ago. It was then that she found a knack for stringing together seashells with seaweed for ornamental reasons... As time past, her life energy found her back in the Cascadian playgrounds of old. Here, Amy spends her days spreading, dotting, and schmearing acrylics and oils around on canvas seeking the rustic, flawed, beauty of a world both springing to life and dying for the next one... Her art centers around the intimate beauty of old world symbolism and the fluid emotions of color and texture.
